Spikes, spots and other ornaments

You don't have to be making Bowser's new collar to use spikes. A few or a forest, big or small, spikes will help create some very unique and personal pieces.

Many of these spikes are nickel plated brass instead of steel. This is a higher quality material for decorative appliques, and the solid brass spikes are proportionally more expensive. However, they will never rust.
Small spike with tap on rivet cap Tree Spike: Solid brass nickel plated spike with rivet and tap-on rivet cap. Just tap the cap onto the rivet base. Be sure to protect the spike head as you set the cap. About 3/8" tall.

Spots and Studs

Spots are less obtrusive accents that can be applied to gear. They attach with two small tabs... slide these through small cuts in the leather, and bend them over to secure the spot.

Because the metal is very thin, decorative steel spots are notorious for rusting (and therefore ruining the gear). The four decorative spots below, WD-011 through WD-014, are rust-proof brass. The remaining two spots (WD-015 and WD-016) are actually bottom spots, traditionally used as "feet" on bags and luggage. They are made from heavier stock that doesn't rust as easily, and are nickel plated steel.
