Eyelets
Eyelets are set into a hole, and leave the hole open for use while protecting and strengthening it with a sheathing of steel. WWL Hardware carries two popular sizes, sold in packs of 25. Set these eyelets with our eyelet setting tool.

Large eyelet to reinforce buckle tongue holes and open lock holes

Large eyelets
These large eyelets have a 7/32" inner diameter, and provide reinforcement for tongue holes on buckling gear and open lock holes. Made of steel and available in nickel and black.

These small eyelets have a 5/32" inner diameter, and are an excellent way to reinforce lace-up closure holes. Made of steel and available in nickel and black.

Grommets
These two-piece grommets consist of the grommet proper plus the backing washer. Grommets are great for reinforcing holes in your leather.

Oblong Grommets great for reinforcing holes for plate staples

Oblong grommet.
These 1in oblong grommets work well to reinforce holes cut for plate staple closures. They sheathe the oblong slot with metal to protect and strengthen it. Set by hand by bending and seating the retaining tabs. Each piece consists of the grommet and a backing washer. Made of solid brass, available in nickel and black finishes.

Speed Lacers or Boot Hooks.
These speed lacers, sometimes called boot hooks, are ideal for creating a quick-to-lace closure. Speed lacers do not fully enclose the lace, allowing a wider opening for entry without having to feed lace back through eyelets. Create a full closure with speed lacers, or just use them on the last few lace rows to provide a large entry that is quick and easy to close.
